Get Smart About Risk Management

Recognizing that there is growing interest in professional upskilling among supply chain professionals, the Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM) announced it is providing free access to the risk management section of the APICS CLTD (Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution) learning system. The section explains how to mitigate and manage risk in logistics that supply chain professionals can use to further their career development.

“Recent spikes in demand and supply combined with uncertainty have stressed supply chains around the globe,” said ASCM CEO Abe Eshkenazi, CSCP, CPA, CAE. “We can’t predict the future, but what we do know is there will be more disruption. It’s crucial that companies have supply chain and logistics professionals on staff that know how to mitigate and manage risk.”

The APICS CLTD learning system combines reading materials with interactive web-based study tools. “The risk management content available for free access provides an understanding of security risks and responses as well as how they differ by country, how to use packaging effectively to minimize the risk of damage to goods in transit and how to develop a risk management process that helps prioritize and determine appropriate and cost-effective responses,” ASCM said.
